The 2011 Summer Session of the TRI Torah Institute is being held in Dublin, Ireland from the 14 - 21 of August. The TRI team of teachers will be teaching on various aspects relating to the following four questions:

What does it mean to be made in the image of God? We will explore the Scriptures that show us what God means when He tells us that we are created in His own image. Then, we will look at how knowing these foundational truths enable us to walk in the fullness of relationship with God and our fellow man.
What does it mean to be a “servant” of God? We will delve into the “Songs of the Servant” in Isaiah to see the revelation the Holy One has given us in the Messiah. In addition, we will look at the lives of Avraham and Moshe, who were called by God to “leave their father’s house” of affluence and influence, to leave completely the only “world” they had ever known, to come away with Him, whom they barely knew, and serve Him with all of their beings. In conjunction with this, we will examine the Torah picture of the whole burnt offering, which shows us from God’s perspective what it means to be a servant in a covenantal relationship with Him.
What is blocking or hindering our thinking so that we do not see ourselves as made in the image of God and we are not able to live our lives in the full freedom of knowing ourselves as new creations in Messiah?
The final major question we will be considering is: What does it mean to be a servant of God within a community of believers seeking to dwell together, knowing themselves as created in the image of God? What does this “look like” in day to day relationship?
 

Please note that these courses are at an intermediate level. If you have never studied with us before, or only once or twice, we would like to recommend you that you take the online course Foundations Rediscovered. It is not a requirement, but you will get much more out of the courses if you already have this foundation of understanding. 
 

There will be two group outings. One outing will be to the famous Trinity College Library where we will have a private tour led by one of the people who restores very old texts and manuscripts at the library. He will show us restoration works in progress and describe their techniques. He will also take us to the Old Library Long Room [pictured below], and the famous Book of Kells, a wonderfully illuminated version of the gospels dating from the 9^th century.

The second group outing will be to the picturesque Powerscourt Estate, where we will have study sessions in the serene beauty of the surrounding gardens. [More details on the Activities Page.

To conclude the day, we will enjoy dinner in the charming nearby village of Enniskerry.

The Good News from the Beginning | Genesis 1-3

In this course we will take another look at the story of the Garden in order to see how the Holy One designed His Creation to relate to Him, what happened that Man found himself outside of the Garden, and how God designed to bring him back.
Our desire is for us all to rediscover the hope for which Messiah gave His life for us to live freely in delight with each other and our Creator.

Torah Rediscovered 

This course focuses on the nature and function of the first five books of the Bible, better known as the Torah. We will look at the true biblical nature of and purposes for this foundational section of our Bibles, rediscovering the treasures there, which will open our eyes to see the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, as one complete book.

Romans 5-7

In this study, we will explore what it means to be a new creation in Messiah as we take a look into what Yeshua actually accomplished when he died and rose again. We will conduct this course as an inductive study on these significant passages in Romans. This course is foundational to all Torah Study. 

The Book of Immanuel | Isaiah 7-12 

Isaiah is undoubtedly the most important of Israel’s prophets. This week we will go through the “Book of Immanuel” (Chapters 7-12) and examine some of the greatest Messianic prophecies in the context of Isaiah’s writing.

Paul Rediscovered

Who was Paul? By what name would his family or close friends have called him? How did he grow up? What would shape this man to be the most influential letter writer in all history and inspire a devotion that would eventually change the face of the Roman world? We will study the life and inspirational faith of this man as it was rooted in the vibrant atmosphere of 2nd Temple Jewish Pharisaism. We will not only unveil the Jewish "voice" of his teachings, but realize the passion for the King Messiah that has been long awaited by the yearning generations of the Jewish people until the present day.
